Covid has dealt a blow to more than one offline event. Czech DevFest was one of them – a conference for all fans of technology, dedicated to development, or simply consider themselves geeks.
This year, however, the organizing team is planning to renew the tradition and bring the festival of all developers back to the local scene.
The date is set for October 24th, 2025
“Our goal is to create an event for all technology lovers. We are planning several stages and, as we always do, an all-DevFest game,” says Jiří Bartušek, who has taken on the role of chief organizer for this year. Jiří managed to put together the organizing team last autumn. “I’m glad that experienced people who have been involved in previous DevFests here in the Czech Republic will be involved in the planning again,” adds Jiří.
Prague is the obvious choice
The team wants to move the conference to Prague again. “We are currently in the process of looking for suitable venues,” explains Bára Drbohlavová, who is in charge of production.
In addition to the venue, the conference is currently looking for partnerships. “Strong partnerships are the heart of any conference, of course. We look forward to working with companies that want to support the Czech technology scene again,” says Jirka. “If you’re interested, you can express your interest in partnering by emailing us at jiri.bartusek@gug.cz,” he adds.
And what can the participants look forward to? “We are planning at least one more conference day full of fantastic speakers, workshops and our traditional interactive game that will take all participants to the stands of partner companies and all the corners of the venue,” says Jirka. “The theme of the game and the whole conference is being intensively fine-tuned and will soon be revealed on our social networks and in our newsletter,” adds Petr, the guarantor of the festival part of the conference.
Where to watch out for it?
“We plan to publish all the information on Facebook and Instagram of DevFest.cz this year. The most important ones will of course also be on the website www.devfest.cz,” says Kateřina Raszka, communications guarantor. On these channels, participants will learn about the start of ticket sales and also about news in the organization.
“As a novelty in communication this year, we are also introducing the possibility to join the DevFest newsletter and thus receive information sooner than anyone else, including when the CfP (call for papers) will open or when the first and cheapest wave of tickets will go on sale,” promises Kateřina.
