Why we decided to bring DevFest.cz back to the Czech Republic this year and why you should care.
At GUG.cz, we love doing events for the developer and geeky community. However, one of our biggest ones – DevFest.cz – we have failed to deliver in recent years.
“First we got punched in the ribs by covid, then we spent a long time figuring out logistics and putting together a team, only to find out that the situation with our partners had changed and we didn’t have the money to organize it,” summarizes Filip Goszler, community captain.
But next year it will really work out!
Or at least we (note: the organizing team, made up of only amazing and skilled people) believe so. Plus we have already promised it to our partners.
We’re already working hard on the event (actually, have been for a while now).
So far, we can say this with confidence (about 92.5%):
- DevFest.cz 2025 will happen
- It will be in Prague
- The main conference part will be on Friday, October 24, 2025.
- Workshops at partner’s venues will also happen
- Afterparty is obviously happening too
- The all-Devfest geeky game is obviously a must, so much that we didn’t even want to write it here

How much will be the tickets? We need to calculate the cost first. The whole team (like every year) is doing the labor for free, so you can be sure we will try to keep the cost as low as possible for you.
We are also planning to release a few super-cheap tickets for the brave of you, whom we will have in the newsletter database.
I want to be famous aka how to get to the stage
We will release the call for speaker at the start of the new year – info will be in the mail and on our social networks. If you have any topics in the drawer, you can already prepare an abstract and your pic and bio.
